Quito: Centro Histórico, Cacao Experience, Museo Intiñan Quito:Chocolate & Middle of the World Adventure

Overview

Our journey begins in Ecuador’s capital, the enchanting city of Quito, home to one of the best-preserved historic centers in South America and remarkable colonial architecture. At Cacao Experience, located in a traditional colonial house in the Loma Grande neighborhood, you will enjoy a unique sensory journey. Discover the chocolate-making process from cacao bean to finished product and taste cacao in its many forms, including roasted beans, fondue with marshmallows, hot chocolate, cacao beer, and cacao liqueur. We will then continue to the breathtaking Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve, the only reserve of its kind in Ecuador. Enjoy panoramic views of this extraordinary volcanic crater, where local families still live and farm within the volcano itself. To complete the day, we will visit the Intiñan Museum (Path of the Sun), where you will learn about Ecuador’s diverse cultures and the fascinating experiments that demonstrate how scientists determined the location of the true Equatorial Line. An unforgettable adventure awaits!
